The government will send Hasan Sardar, a July Warrior injured in the 2024 mass uprising, to Singapore for advanced medical treatment after he sustained around 400 pellet wounds. An initial 20 lakh taka has been allocated for his care, per a government order issued on July 10.

Hasan will receive treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for 60 days. He is currently under care at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in Dhaka. During the July movement, Hasan was shot in the left leg on July 18 in the Rampura Bridge area and again on August 5 near BRAC University in Merul Badda.

Hasan told The Daily Campus: “During the movement, about 400 pellets hit my body. One arm is only thirty percent functional. My family struggled to cover treatment costs early on. The government later provided support and now plans to send me to Singapore. I’ve applied for a passport and they say I’ll be sent soon. I hope treatment helps me return to a normal life.”

Additionally, 20 other injured during the July uprising will receive treatment at Vejthani Hospital in Bangkok for 60 days with 20 lakh taka allocated per person, totaling 4.2 crore taka. They are also under care at NITOR. The group includes Kazi Md. Jaber Hossain, Shahadat Hossain, Firoz Ahmed, Nadim, Shahadat Hossain Khan, Md. Hasan, Md. Sharifull Islam, Md. Shahenur Islam, Touhidul Islam, Naser Uddin Emili, Md. Yasir Arafat, Mosharraf Hossain, Md. Tanvir Hossain, Md. Ariful Islam, Md. Johurul Islam, Ashik Howladar, Md. Sajib Hossain, Yasin, Shamim Miya, and Md. Mobarak Hossain.

Previous groups sent abroad faced issues due to insufficient attendants and language barriers. To address this, most individuals will be accompanied by a family member such as a parent, spouse, or sibling, except for five in the Bangkok group.
