Bogura school moves toward nationalisation

The government has taken an initiative to nationalise the Rural Development Academy Laboratory School and College in Bogura. As part of the process, authorities have been instructed to assess the feasibility of nationalising the institution and take the necessary administrative steps.

The authorities have also been asked to send a progress report to the Prime Minister’s Office detailing the steps taken regarding the proposed nationalisation.

A letter issued on September 2 gave the instructions. It was signed by Md Uzzwal Hossain, Protocol Officer-1 to the Prime Minister and member secretary of the Coordination Cell for Implementing Promised and Expected Programmes of Members of Parliament.

According to the letter, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, MP, sent a demi-official (DO) letter to the Prime Minister on August 31 seeking the nationalisation of the Rural Development Academy Laboratory School and College in Bogura.

Following the state minister’s request, the concerned authorities were instructed to conduct a feasibility assessment of the institution’s nationalisation.

They were also asked to take the necessary administrative measures and submit a progress report to the Prime Minister’s Office on the activities undertaken in connection with the proposed nationalisation.

However, the letter does not indicate that a final decision has been taken to nationalise the institution. The proposal is currently at the stage of feasibility assessment and necessary administrative procedures.
