SSC Re-scrutiny Results on Sept 10, but Will the Date Be Delayed?

Nearly 13 lakh SSC and equivalent exam papers are being re-scrutinised across the country’s 11 education boards, putting pressure on authorities to publish the results on schedule. The results of this year’s SSC and equivalent examination paper re-scrutiny are scheduled to be published on September 10, according to the admission guidelines for the 2026-27 academic year.

Although board examiners were initially instructed to complete the re-scrutiny process by September 5, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has extended the deadline by two more days, until September 7. Board officials said the extension was given to ensure that the re-scrutiny results can still be published on the previously scheduled date.

The officials said the re-scrutiny process was not completed by September 5 due to various reasons. Following a unanimous decision, examiners have now been instructed to complete the process by September 7.

They said the number of papers submitted for re-scrutiny this year is several times higher than in previous years, creating additional pressure on examiners. If they fail to complete the work within the extended deadline, the deadline may have to be extended again.

According to the officials, publishing the re-scrutiny results on time will be a major challenge, particularly because the admission schedule for Class XI has already been set.

Prof Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board, told The Daily Campus on Saturday (September 5), “We are working to publish the SSC re-scrutiny results on September 10. Chief examiners will complete the paper review by September 7. We are working according to the guidelines for Class XI admission. Hopefully, we will be able to publish the results on time.”

Nearly 12.88 lakh papers under re-scrutiny

According to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, the SSC and equivalent examination results were published on August 10. Applications for re-scrutiny opened the following day and continued until August 17. Many students applied to have multiple papers re-scrutinised, resulting in a total of 12,87,926 applications across the SSC and equivalent examinations.

The re-scrutiny process began on August 22, although some education boards reportedly started the process on August 29.

Board-wise number of papers

The Dhaka Education Board received approximately 2,77,600 applications, while Mymensingh received 71,066 and Chattogram 1,14,706. Rajshahi received 98,170 applications for written papers and 24,058 for practical papers. Jashore received 74,717, while Barishal received 50,153.

Sylhet received 50,710 applications for written papers and 10,264 for practical papers. Dinajpur received 89,286 applications for re-scrutiny. The exact number of re-scrutiny applications submitted to the Cumilla Education Board, Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board was not immediately available.

However, according to data from the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, the total number of applications for re-scrutiny of SSC and equivalent examination papers stands at 12,87,926.

Class XI admission underway

Applications for admission to Class XI in the 2026-27 academic year began on September 2 and will continue until 8:00pm on September 10. The application fee is Tk 220. Classes for Class XI students are scheduled to begin on September 23, after completion of the admission process.
