Tongi Pilot School and Girls College, located in Gazipur’s Tongi area, has appointed Harun-or-Rashid as its new acting principal. The announcement was made on Monday, May 19, 2025. Alongside his new role, Harun-or-Rashid continues to serve as an assistant professor at the college.

College authorities shared that the institution has been grappling with issues like poor management, administrative challenges, and a drop in the quality of education, causing concern among local residents. Harun-or-Rashid’s appointment is seen as a timely move to address these problems. He previously served as a teacher representative at the college for six years across two terms, earning trust and recognition for his dedication.

Speaking about his new role, Principal Harun-or-Rashid said, “I believe a good school is key to building a strong foundation for students. My main aim is to bring back the lost prestige of Tongi Pilot School and Girls College and make it a model institution.”

He has already taken steps to improve the college, including holding a meeting with teachers and exchanging views with former MP and freedom fighter Haji Hasan Uddin Sarkar to discuss plans for the institution’s progress.

His priorities include improving the school’s facilities, upgrading the science lab, introducing new academic activities, and encouraging students to uphold moral and human values. With his leadership, the college is expected to see brighter days ahead.
