BUET to Announce 2026-27 Admission Test Date Tomorrow

The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has yet to announce the admission test date for the 2026-27 academic year, with the final decision expected at an Academic Council meeting tomorrow.

At least 10 universities, including the University of Dhaka, University of Chittagong, University of Rajshahi and three engineering universities, have already announced their admission test schedules for the 2026-27 academic year. However, BUET, which has traditionally held its admission test relatively early, is yet to finalise its schedule.

The university’s admission committee will meet tomorrow, Sunday (September 6), to discuss and finalise the date for the 2026-27 admission test. University authorities said the decision will be taken at the Academic Council meeting.

Prof Dr Md Kamrul Hasan, chairman of the BUET admission committee, told The Daily Campus today, Saturday (September 5), that no date had yet been fixed.

“We have not yet fixed the date for the 2026-27 academic year admission test. However, we will sit tomorrow and take a final decision,” he said.

Earlier, BUET Registrar Prof Dr Nayeb Md Golam Zakaria told The Daily Campus that no decision had been taken yet regarding the admission test.

“The admission test has not been decided yet. A decision will be taken after discussing the matter at the Academic Council meeting,” he said.
