NTRCA leans toward 9th teacher recruitment circular instead of 19th registration
The Non‑Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority is preparing to launch teacher recruitment in private educational institutions through a direct recruitment circular. As part of this shift, the authority is considering issuing the 9th teacher recruitment circular instead of the 19th teacher registration.
An NTRCA source said the authority wants to move away from the term “registration.” Discussions are ongoing about publishing a 9th teacher recruitment circular in place of the 19th registration. The matter will be finalized at an NTRCA board meeting after collecting vacancy lists from institutions.
Asked about the issue, NTRCA Chairman Md Aminul Islam told The Daily Campus that it has not yet been finalized whether it will be called the 19th teacher registration or the 9th teacher recruitment circular. He said that since recruitment will be done through a direct circular after collecting vacancy data, the authority may move away from “registration,” and a 9th recruitment circular could be issued. The decision will be finalized in a board meeting.
Meanwhile, e‑registration for schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical institutions may begin online from next Sunday to facilitate the upcoming recruitment. The e‑registration window is planned to remain open for 15 days.
Aminul Islam said the plan is to start e‑registration from next Sunday. After a discussion with Teletalk on Thursday, a notice on e‑registration may be published. Institutions will be given 15 days for e‑registration, after which the authority will begin collecting online vacancy demands.
Changes proposed in the new recruitment process
A 200‑mark exam has been proposed for all three streams: school‑college, madrasa, and technical. Earlier proposals suggested 100 subjective and 100 general for school‑college and technical, and 140 subjective and 60 general for madrasas. The Education Ministry believes this division may create discrimination, so it is considering the same mark pattern for all three streams.
An Education Ministry official told The Daily Campus that various proposals have been discussed, including separate methods for different streams, but that a unified exam model is now under consideration. The issue will be discussed in an upcoming NTRCA board meeting and finalized in a later ministry meeting.
It was also learned that NTRCA registration exams have never included viva marks before. For the first time, viva marks will be added under the new rules, and the Education Ministry is positive about the change. In addition, for the first time, age will be calculated from the date the 19th registration circular is published.
