A Legacy of Opportunity: The 10th National Career Fair and the Future of Bangladesh’s Workforce
In the quiet determination of our classrooms and the restless ambition of our graduates lies the future of Bangladesh. Every year, thousands of young minds step beyond university gates carrying not only degrees, but dreams—dreams of dignity, purpose, and contribution. For more than two decades, the Career and Placement Center of North South University has sought to honor those dreams by transforming possibility into opportunity. What began as a small institutional effort has grown into a national platform, guided by a simple yet powerful belief: that education finds its truest meaning when it opens doors, uplifts lives, and shapes the nation’s tomorrow.
Since the year 2000, the Career and Placement Center (CPC) of North South University has taken a pioneering role in creating structured platforms where young talent can connect meaningfully with industry. Between 2000 and 2019, CPC has successfully organized nine National Career Fairs, each serving as a catalyst for career development, professional preparedness, and employer engagement. These fairs have not only facilitated recruitment opportunities but have also fostered dialogue between universities and industry leaders, ensuring that graduates are equipped with the skills and insights required in an increasingly competitive job market.
Continuing this proud legacy, the Career and Placement Center, North South University, is organizing the 10th National Career Fair (NCF) 2026, scheduled to be held from 1 to 3 February 2026 at the NSU campus. This milestone event reflects both our institutional commitment and our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to Bangladesh’s employment ecosystem.
The National Career Fair reached important milestones under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor of North South University and former Director of CPC. During his tenure, the fair was organized in 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011, laying a strong foundation for its expansion into a national platform. His contributions continue to shape the direction and impact of the fair today.
The 10th National Career Fair 2026 is expected to bring together leading employers, students, graduates, alumni, and job seekers from across Bangladesh. Over 20,000 participants are anticipated to attend the three-day event to submit CVs, interact with recruiters, and participate in career development activities. We are honored to have MGH Group as the Title Sponsor of this landmark edition, alongside more than 100 participating organizations from diverse sectors.
Among the confirmed participants are bKash Limited, City Bank PLC, Eastern Bank PLC, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Meghna Bank PLC, IPDC Finance PLC, IDLC Finance PLC, Nagad, BRAC, Renata PLC, Apex Pharma, ACME Laboratories Ltd., Roche Bangladesh Ltd., Beximco Pharmaceutical, ShareTrip, iPharma, Augmedix Bangladesh, Pathao, Runner Group, Partex Star Group, Navana Group, and Petromax LPG, among others. The fair will also welcome companies from Japan, China, and South Korea, reflecting its growing international engagement.
The event will commence with an Inauguration Ceremony, where Ms. Sharmeen Soneya Murshid, Adviser to the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, will attend as the Chief Guest. The fair will conclude with a Closing Ceremony, graced by Mr. Taskeen Ahmed, President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), as the Special Guest. Both ceremonies will be attended by distinguished dignitaries, corporate leaders, and notable alumni.
Beyond recruitment, the National Career Fair 2026 will feature workshops, seminars, and panel discussions across all four schools of North South University—Business & Economics; Humanities & Social Sciences; Engineering & Physical Sciences; and Health & Life Sciences. Sessions on CV writing, interview skills, and career readiness will further support participants in preparing for professional success.
For me, this journey is profoundly personal. I once stood where many of our students stand today—an NSU graduate with aspirations shaped within these very classrooms. Over the years, I returned as a faculty member, and today, as Director of the Career and Placement Center, I carry a responsibility that is both professional and deeply emotional. The National Career Fair represents not only an institutional mission, but a continuation of my own journey—one that affirms the transformative power of education when guided by purpose and care. As we open doors for the next generation, I do so with gratitude for where I began, pride in how far we have come, and unwavering faith in the futures our young people will create for Bangladesh.
Meaningful employment is central to individual growth and national progress. As Director of the Career and Placement Center, I firmly believe that platforms like the National Career Fair play a vital role in empowering young talent and aligning education with the needs of the economy. The 10th National Career Fair 2026 stands as a reaffirmation of North South University’s commitment to shaping a skilled, confident, and future-ready workforce for Bangladesh.
