Cabinet Division Bans PM's Photo on Government Banners, Billboards
The Cabinet Division has officially banned the use of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s photographs on banners, festoons, and billboards prepared for government events. The restriction was announced through a circular issued today, Sunday (July 5), regarding the publicity protocols of state-sponsored programs.
According to the circular, signed by Deputy Secretary Tania Afroz, the inclusion of the Prime Minister’s photograph—whether in standard format, 3D render, or any other visual adaptation—is completely prohibited on banners, festoons, and billboards designed for any official government function.
The directive explicitly outlines that the design of promotional materials for public events must prioritize the core theme, objective, and relevant information of the respective program. Banners, festoons, and billboards must be structured in a manner that ensures the central message, purpose, and content of the event are clearly and prominently reflected.
The Cabinet Division emphasized that this matter is of utmost importance and takes effect immediately. Furthermore, all Senior Secretaries and Secretaries have been requested to issue urgent instructions to all departments, directorates, and subordinate agencies under their respective jurisdictions to ensure strict compliance with the new order.
