SSC test exams for 2027 to be held from Oct 15 to Nov 15
The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has announced the schedule for the selection, or test, examinations for students intending to sit for the 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. It has also announced that SSC examination form filling will begin on November 16.
The board disclosed the information in a notice issued today, Tuesday (September 1), describing the matter as “extremely urgent.”
According to the notice, all secondary-level institutions under the Dhaka Education Board must complete the selection examinations for students intending to participate in the 2027 SSC examinations between October 15 and November 15. The results of the examinations must also be published within that period.
Form filling for the 2027 SSC examinations will begin on November 16. The detailed notice, including the form-filling schedule, will be published on the Dhaka Education Board’s website in due course, the notice said. Copies of the notice will be sent to the principals and head teachers of all government and private secondary-level educational institutions under the board.
The SSC examinations had traditionally been held in early February, while the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations were conducted in early April. However, this schedule could not be maintained after the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. The 2026 SSC examinations began on April 21, while the HSC examinations started on July 2.
The 2027 SSC examinations were initially expected to begin early next year. However, the schedule has been pushed back, with the examinations now set to begin on March 14.
Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan said the decision was taken based on the opinions of students and their guardians. He disclosed the decision at a briefing at the Secretariat on Monday (August 31).
