Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today spent joyful moments interacting with children at the day-care center located within the Bhumi Bhaban complex in the capital's Tejgaon area. Following the formal inauguration of the nationwide "Land Service Fair-2026" at around 11:15 AM, the Prime Minister toured the "Children Day-Care Center," which is operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

A lively interaction without security protocol

Setting aside strict protocol and security formalities, the Prime Minister spent approximately 18 minutes mingling freely with the children. The room, filled with toys and vibrant artwork, became a scene of excitement as the young children gathered around the Premier.

Several children shook hands with him, while others pulled him along to showcase their favorite toys or eager drawings. The Prime Minister reviewed their artwork, offering praise and affectionately patting them on the head.

Cake cutting and gift distribution

During the visit, the Prime Minister joined the children to cut a cake. He personally distributed gift bags, chocolates, toffees, and lollipops to the young attendees.

In a lighthearted moment, when the Prime Minister playfully asked whose birthday it was, multiple children enthusiastically claimed it was theirs. The Premier responded warmly, saying, "Today is everyone's birthday. Come, let's cut the cake together." The cake-cutting was met with applause and chanting from the children, one of whom fed a piece of the cake to the Prime Minister.

Ariba, a young girl at the facility, shared her excitement afterward, showcasing the dolls and treats she had received and describing the Prime Minister as very kind.

Operational brief by the ministry

Mahia Tasnuva Tamanna, an official at the day-care center, briefed the Prime Minister on the daily caretaking routines, standard operating procedures, and facility management. During the briefing, the Prime Minister inquired about the nutritional quality of the food served to the children and stressed the absolute importance of ensuring environment-friendly spaces for their proper mental and psychological development.

Women and Children Affairs Minister Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, who accompanied the Premier, provided statistical context regarding the welfare project:
