Following his expulsion from the Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) for "breaching discipline," Rashedul Amin, the Joint Convener of the Dhaka College unit, has alleged that he was physically assaulted by fellow activists. The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday night, March 28, during a reception for Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan.

The JCD central committee issued a press release, signed by Office Secretary Jahangir Alam, announcing Amin’s expulsion late Saturday. However, Amin took to social media shortly after to express his frustration, claiming he was the victim of a coordinated attack by members of the Dhaka Metropolitan West JCD unit.

According to Rashedul Amin, he was standing atop a security barricade with senior Dhaka College JCD leaders to greet the Prime Minister upon his first arrival at the party office since taking the oath of office. Amin alleged that leaders from the Dhaka Metropolitan West unit, led by President Robin Khan, attempted to forcefully secure positions near the barricade, leading to a physical confrontation.

"The unruly activists of Metropolitan West JCD dragged me off the barricade and left me bloodied," Amin claimed in a verified Facebook post. He expressed deep disappointment with the Dhaka College JCD leadership for their perceived inaction during the assault and stated that he was shocked to find his expulsion notice waiting for him when he reached home.

Responding to the allegations, Dhaka Metropolitan West JCD President Robin Khan told The Daily Campus that while a verbal spat had occurred, no physical violence took place. "None of my unit members laid a hand on them. There was a minor disagreement in the open space involving multiple units, including Dhaka College and Metropolitan North, but it was resolved immediately," Khan stated.

The central JCD leadership has stood by the expulsion, citing the need to maintain strict organizational discipline during high-profile state functions. Meanwhile, the incident has highlighted internal friction among various student wings as they vie for prominence following the recent political transition.
