Missing Anowara College Student Found Safe After 18-Hour Ordeal

Min Uddin, a fourth-year honours student in the Accounting Department of Anowara Government College, was found safe nearly 18 hours after going missing, bringing relief to his family, friends, and the college community. The news of his disappearance sparked widespread concern after he failed to return home following an exam on Sunday, 13 July.
Main, a resident of Ward No. 1 in Barkal Union, Chandanaish Upazila, and the youngest of three brothers, had left for an exam at Patiya Government College on Sunday afternoon. After completing the exam by 5:00 PM, he did not return home, and his mobile phone was reportedly not with him, intensifying worries among family and friends. Social media posts with his photo and details circulated widely as relatives and peers searched for him throughout the day.
By Monday morning, 14 July, at around 10:30 AM, his family confirmed that Main had been located, safe and unharmed. His brother, Rabiul Hossain, told The Daily Campus, “By the grace of Allah, we have found my brother. We learned he is sleeping at a house in a neighbouring union. We don’t yet know where he was or why this happened, but we are focused on bringing him home safely.”
Professor Ruhul Amin, Principal of Anowara Government College, expressed relief, stating, “We are overjoyed at Main’s safe return. His absence had caused significant concern among us all.”
Chandanaish Police Station Officer-in-Charge Golam Sarwar noted, “We had not received a formal complaint but were aware of the missing student. His safe recovery is a relief.”
While the circumstances of Main’s disappearance remain unclear, the college and local community have expressed gratitude for his safe return, with no formal police action taken as of now.
