SSC and Equivalent Exam Results Published, Pass Rate Falls by 6.2 Percentage Points

Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon officially published the examination outcomes during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education conference room on Monday, August 10. Earlier in the morning, board chairpersons formally handed over the results, which were presented by Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee President Prof. Dr. Syed Akhtaruzzaman.

The nationwide pass rate experienced a decline of 6.2 percent compared to the previous year. Within the general education boards, the pass rate stood at 64.05 percent, dropping from 68.04 percent recorded in 2025. A total of 1,857,344 candidates participated in the examinations across 3,885 centers from 30,666 educational institutions nationwide. The candidate pool comprised 930,305 male students and 927,039 female students, divided among 1,418,318 in general education boards, 303,286 in the madrasa board for Dakhil, and 134,660 in the technical education board. Total participating institutions increased by 303, while testing centers rose by 201.

Female students demonstrated stronger performance metrics within the general education boards, with 107,982 more female students successfully passing than their male counterparts, alongside 11,401 more female students securing the highest grade point of GPA-5. Across the boards, the number of GPA-5 recipients totaled 106,009, marking a decrease of 19,009 from the 125,018 top graders recorded in 2025.

The data also highlighted an increase in institutions recording a zero-pass rate. General education boards registered 57 zero-pass institutions compared to 48 in the previous year, while the madrasa board recorded 226 zero-pass institutions up from 86. The technical education board logged 29 zero-pass institutions, rising from zero in 2025. A specific sub-total within the reporting noted 402 participating candidates across 9 centers, with 354 passing, 48 failing, and an 88.06 percent pass rate, alongside two 100 percent passing institutions and one zero-pass institution.

Students and academic institutions can access tabulated scorecards and download result sheets simultaneously through the official government portals at eduboardresults.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd by utilizing their respective board credentials and institutional EIIN numbers. Individual examinees can also retrieve their results through mobile SMS services by sending a formatted text message to either 16140 or 16222. The SMS structure requires typing the letters SSC, followed by the first three letters of the education board name, the roll number, and the year 2026, separated by spaces.

Candidates dissatisfied with their evaluated grades who wish to apply for result re-scrutiny can submit online applications starting tomorrow, August 11, through August 17. Detailed procedural guidelines and application instructions will be published through official notifications on the respective education boards' websites.
