Government Laboratory High School Celebrates 64 Years of Excellence

On September 3, 1961, a beacon of light was ignited in the heart of Dhaka with the establishment of Government Laboratory High School. Guided by the noble motto “Light, More Light,” this esteemed institution embarked on a remarkable journey that continues to illuminate lives across borders and generations.
As the school approaches its 64th anniversary, the Government Laboratory High School community proudly reflects on its legacy of academic excellence and societal contributions. The institution pays heartfelt tribute to its visionary educators, particularly Khan Mohammad Salek and the then Principal of Teachers’ Training College, Muhammad Osman Gani, whose enduring contributions remain etched in the school’s history.
To mark this milestone, the Old Laboratorians’ Association (OLSA) has organized a series of celebratory events on September 3 and September 12, 2025, inviting alumni, students, and well-wishers to reconnect with their beloved alma mater.
On Wednesday, September 3, at 4:00 PM, the school campus will come alive with a ceremonial cake-cutting and discussion program organized by OLSA. The event will honor the school’s rich legacy and its commitment to fostering knowledge and values.
Later that evening, the Sports Community of the Old Laboratorians will host a vibrant School Day Concert at the school auditorium, promising an unforgettable celebration filled with music and nostalgia.
On Friday, September 12, OLSA will continue the festivities with a series of special events. At 3:00 PM, a Special General Meeting (EGM) for OLSA’s lifetime members will take place in the school auditorium, followed by the introduction of the newly formed OLSA Advisory Council.
The evening will culminate in a grand 64th Anniversary Concert, where the auditorium will resonate with melodious performances, bringing together Laboratorians in a celebration of shared memories and aspirations.
