Inter-Education Board to Retake HSC Exams for 5 Subjects: Registration Deadline July 29

The Inter-Education Board Committee has decided to retake the HSC and equivalent examinations across five subjects for candidates who were unable to sit for their tests on July 13 due to severe weather, heavy rainfall, and waterlogging. Eligible candidates wishing to re-sit the exams have been instructed to complete their registration at their respective centers by July 29.

A notice issued on Saturday (July 25), signed by Professor Jasmin Taslima Banu, Convener of the Inter-Education Board Exam Controller Committee and Controller of Examinations at the Dhaka Education Board, outlined the directives.

The affected subjects from the July 13 schedule include:

• General Education Boards (Excluding Chittagong Board): Physics 1st Paper, Accounting 1st Paper, and Logic 1st Paper

• Madrasah Education Board: English 2nd Paper

• Technical Education Board: Office Management

According to the official directive, exam centers must collect registration details from willing candidates by July 29 and urgently transmit the compiled examinee data to the respective board controllers of examination by July 30.

This official order follows a Rule 300 statement delivered in Parliament on July 15 by Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Hoque Milan. The Education Minister had announced that a total of 1,270,583 candidates are appearing for the 2026 HSC and equivalent examinations across 2,697 centers nationwide.

While examinations under the Chittagong Education Board across five districts—Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachhari, Rangamati, and Bandarban—were formally postponed due to heavy rainfall, students in other regions were also unable to reach examination centers due to local flooding and adverse weather. To protect the academic progress of affected examinees, the government arranged a special provision allowing them to sit for the retake using identical question papers alongside the postponed Chittagong Board exams on a date set by the Ministry of Education.
