After 11 Centres Counted, Chatra Dal Leads in VP, Shibir Ahead in GS & AGS

Vote counting for the highly anticipated Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) election continues. Results from 11 out of 39 centres have now been officially declared.
In the latest results from three additional centres — Faculty of Fine Arts, Molecular & Biochemistry Department, and Philosophy Department — Chatra Dal candidates have taken a strong lead in the VP position. However, across the 11 centres counted so far, Islami Chhatra Shibir-supported candidates of the “Adomya Jabyan Aikya” panel maintain the lead in GS and AGS positions.
The results for these three centres were announced this morning, Wednesday (7 January), by Election Commission representative Dr Anisur Rahman.
Current Standings After 11 Centres
- VP (Vice-President): Chatra Dal-supported candidate AKM Rakib leads with a total of 1,142 votes. His closest rival, Islami Chhatra Shibir-supported candidate Riazul Islam, has received 1,031 votes.
- GS (General Secretary): Shibir-supported Abdul Alim Arif is strongly ahead with 1,076 votes. Chatra Dal candidate Khadijatul Kobora has 570 votes.
- AGS (Assistant General Secretary): Shibir-backed Masud Rana leads with 1,013 votes. Chatra Dal candidate Atikur Rahman Tanzil has 898 votes.
Previously Counted Centres Earlier results were declared from the following centres:
- Microbiology
- Finance
- CSE (Computer Science & Engineering)
- Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology
- Geography & Environment
- Public Administration
- Anthropology
- Pharmacy
Counting is ongoing across the remaining centres, with more results expected to be announced progressively.
