The Ministry of Education has revised the recruitment policy for principals, assistant principals, headmasters, deputy headmasters, superintendents, and assistant superintendents in non-government schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical institutions, raising the required teaching experience to 18 years. As a result, all previous applications submitted under the old rules have been cancelled, and the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration & Certification Authority (NTRCA) is preparing to accept fresh applications.

Sources at NTRCA indicate that the major change in the experience requirement automatically invalidates earlier applications. NTRCA will soon issue a notification for new applications, with plans to start accepting them from 15 March and continue until 25 March.

Today (Thursday, 12 March), the examination committee meeting is expected to finalize these decisions.

When contacted, NTRCA Chairman Md. Aminul Islam told The Daily Campus: “Applications for principal recruitment may run from 15 March to 25 March. The examination committee meeting today will take the final decision on this.”

Additionally, more than 86,000 teachers whose applications were cancelled will have their Tk 350 application fee refunded. Discussions are underway on the refund process, with mobile financial service provider bKash likely to be used.

The chairman added: “We will discuss the matter today. After the discussion, a final decision will be taken. However, since the experience requirement has been changed, the possibility of application cancellation is high. If applications are cancelled, fees must be refunded.”
