Thousands of aspirants seeking admission to National University (NU) for the 2025-2026 academic session have faced significant difficulties accessing their results due to server congestion. Following the official release of the undergraduate (Honours) first-year admission results today, Sunday (May 3), the university's admission portal became nearly inaccessible for many due to a massive surge in traffic.

Dr. Ali Jafar Chowdhury, Secretary of the Admission and Registration Cell at National University, addressed the issue this evening. He clarified that the disruption is not due to a technical glitch but rather an overwhelming volume of simultaneous users.

"It is not a server error. With nearly 450,000 students trying to access the site at once, the system is experiencing an overload," Dr. Chowdhury explained to The Daily Campus. He noted that the website is designed to handle approximately 10,000 concurrent users. "We are monitoring the situation and expect the traffic to normalize after 10:00 PM. In the meantime, students can check their results via SMS."

Students Face Anxious Wait

The digital bottleneck has caused widespread frustration and anxiety among candidates. Students from various districts, including Sherpur, reported that even computer shops were unable to bypass the "server down" messages.

Sumaiya Akter, an applicant, shared her distress: "I have been sitting with my phone since noon. I cannot enter the server at all. It is mentally exhausting not knowing my result after all this waiting."

Authority’s Reassurance

Urging students not to panic, Dr. Chowdhury reminded candidates that the formal admission process for those in the first merit list—including online form fill-up and PDF collection—does not begin until May 5. "We have provided a two-day window specifically so that everyone has ample time to check their results and prepare," he added.

Earlier today, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah announced the results, highlighting a pass rate of 80.36%. Out of 453,148 participants, 364,135 students passed, with 229,765 securing spots in the first merit list.
