SSC re-evaluation applications cross 13 lakhs
More than 13 lakh applications have been submitted to re-evaluate SSC and equivalent examination answer scripts, following this year’s poor results, with the application deadline set to end at midnight on Monday.
Professor Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed the figure to The Daily Campus on Monday (August 17). He said more than 13 lakh applications had been received so far, with applications remaining open until 12am. This year’s SSC and equivalent examinations recorded the lowest average pass rate in nearly two decades, at 62.25%. Nearly 700,000 students who took the examinations failed.
How to apply for re-evaluation
Students seeking re-evaluation of their SSC and equivalent examination results must visit the designated website and enter their roll and registration numbers. They then need to select their respective education board from the dropdown menu and click the “Submit” button.
In the next step, applicants must provide a mobile phone number. The re-evaluation result will be sent to that number by SMS after publication. Students can then view their subject-wise results and select one or more subjects for re-evaluation before clicking the “Pay Fee” button.
The fee is Tk 150 for each paper. For subjects consisting of two papers, students must apply for both papers. The total payable amount will be displayed on the next screen, and fees can be paid through bKash, Nagad and Sonali Seba.
After paying the fee, applicants must return to the application portal and click the “Submit” button to complete the process. Additional subjects can be added later by following the same procedure without providing a new mobile number.
However, before paying the fee, applicants can modify or withdraw subjects for which payment has not yet been made by clicking the “Delete” button and then selecting new subjects. Once the fee has been paid, subjects included in the application cannot be cancelled, and fees are non-refundable. Manual applications will not be accepted.
Re-evaluation, not just re-scrutiny
At the publication of the 2026 SSC and equivalent examination results on August 10, Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milan said answer scripts would be re-evaluated if a student had been awarded incorrect marks or had not received the marks they were entitled to. He said a review committee would be formed to ensure that every student receives the marks they deserve.
The minister also said that under the previous review system, authorities mainly examined tabulation sheets, without an opportunity to recheck whether teachers had awarded the appropriate marks after reviewing the answer scripts. This year, he said, a legal provision has been introduced allowing the answer scripts of every student to be re-evaluated.
