337 students move from fail to pass in Dhaka Board, 906 get new GPA-5

The results of the re-scrutiny of this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations have been published. The results were released simultaneously by all 11 education boards at 10am on Thursday (September 10). Following the re-scrutiny, 3,079 students received GPA-5 for the first time. Of them, 906 students under the Dhaka Education Board obtained GPA-5 after their results were revised.

According to Inter-Education Board sources, a total of 364,184 students applied for re-scrutiny this year. Among them, 94,236 students submitted applications for changes to their results.

The number of answer scripts submitted for re-scrutiny was 277,665. Results were revised for 8,999 students, while only marks were changed for 21,069 students. A total of 337 students who were initially marked as failed have been declared passed following the re-scrutiny.

Applicants can check their revised results through their respective education board websites. The results will also be sent to the mobile phone numbers provided during the application process. Students can also check their results through the designated online portal.

After several years of relatively high pass rates, SSC results have declined over the past two years. This year, the pass rate across the nine general education boards fell to 64.05%, the lowest in 19 years. The pass rate also declined compared with last year, while the number of GPA-5 recipients fell by around 19,000.
