Schools to Return to 6-Day Class Week: Education Minister
To address the global fuel crisis, the Ministry of Education is planning to run classes in schools through a combination of online and offline modes. As part of this, educational institutions may conduct teaching activities six days a week instead of the current five.
Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon disclosed the plan for a six-day class week while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Tuesday (31 March).
The minister said: “The Prime Minister has given various directives for fuel conservation in the country. As part of this, there is a plan to keep schools open for six days a week instead of five and run at least some classes through online and offline modes. Especially in metropolitan areas, there is a plan to introduce online-based classes.”
