MPO Teachers Face Transfer Application Hurdles, DSHE Plans Talks with Teletalk
MPO-listed teachers at private schools and colleges are facing various complications while applying for transfers, with hundreds reportedly unable to submit applications. Teachers have been visiting officials at the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) throughout the day seeking solutions, while the software developer has yet to address some of the reported problems.
DSHE officials said several minor issues have emerged in the transfer application process and that Teletalk is being informed of them immediately. However, they alleged that Teletalk has not been giving the issues sufficient attention. DSHE is therefore planning a meeting with Teletalk under the leadership of Director General Professor Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel to resolve the problems.
A DSHE official, speaking to The Daily Campus on condition of anonymity, said multiple problems related to teachers’ transfer applications had been reported to Teletalk. “Teletalk has said it will resolve problems caused by the software. However, it will not take the initiative to resolve problems caused by heads of institutions or teachers,” the official said.
The official acknowledged that teachers could be deprived of the opportunity to apply if the complications remain unresolved. “We also understand the issue. That is why we want to discuss the problems with Teletalk. The director general will be informed and a meeting will be arranged soon,” the official said.
Seven conditions for transfer applications
The transfer application website displays seven conditions and instructions on teachers’ dashboards. Teachers who do not meet the relevant conditions cannot apply under the corresponding category. A teacher can apply for transfer to a maximum of three institutions. Under the “own division” category, there cannot be vacancies at three or more institutions in the teacher’s own district. If three or more posts are vacant in the district, the teacher cannot apply for a divisional transfer.
For applications under the “own district” or “own district and own division” categories, the teacher’s current workplace and own district cannot be the same. Under the “spouse’s workplace” category, the current workplace and the spouse’s workplace cannot be in the same district.
Under the “spouse’s own district” category, the current workplace and the spouse’s own district cannot be the same. Teachers must also have completed at least two years in their current job to apply for transfer.
Teachers who are ineligible for transfer or are not transferable under the applicable rules cannot apply. Software developer SP International told The Daily Campus that teachers can apply through the designated website using the user ID and password sent to their mobile phones.
The company also advised teachers to verify their personal information and eligibility before applying. Teachers who fail to meet the relevant conditions will not be able to apply under that category. The transfer application process will remain open until August 27. Eligible teachers must complete their applications within the stipulated deadline.
