Government to Provide Scholarsips for Honors Students: How to apply
The government has initiated a stipend program for meritorious students from financially disadvantaged families pursuing graduation (pass) and equivalent levels under the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust. The online application process will commence at 9:00 AM on May 17 and conclude at 11:59 PM on June 14. A directive outlining the process has already been sent to the principals of all relevant colleges.
The notification was issued under the signature of Smriti Karmakar, Managing Director (Additional Secretary) of the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust. A letter detailing the instructions was published on the National University website on Monday (May 16).
According to the notification, meritorious first-year students from financially insolvent families enrolled in the graduation (pass) and equivalent courses under National University-affiliated colleges and institutions for the 2023-24 academic session will receive stipends, tuition fees, and other educational benefits under the Trust for the 2025-26 fiscal year in 2026.
Eligible students can apply online by visiting the designated website and filling out the prescribed application form. Following the student submissions, the heads of the respective educational institutions will verify student attendance, upload the selection committee's resolutions onto the software, and forward the completed applications. This institutional forwarding process will remain open from 9:00 AM on June 15 until 11:59 PM on June 21.
Detailed guidelines and information regarding the stipend are available on the official website pmeat.gov.bd and on the notice board of the e-Stipend Management System. Since the entire application and management sequence is fully digitized, applicants do not need to submit any hard copies of their applications to the trust.
