National University Holds Admission Test for 2025-26 Session
The first-year undergraduate (Honors) admission test for the 2025-2026 academic session of National University (NU) was successfully held today, Saturday (April 25). The examination took place simultaneously from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM across 138 selected centers in divisional and district cities nationwide.
Key Statistics of the 'Admission War'
According to university sources, a total of 453,148 candidates participated in the exam. With approximately 452,875 available seats across the country, the competition saw nearly two students vying for every seat on average.
At a press conference held on Friday at the university’s city office in the capital, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah detailed the distribution of seats:

Government Colleges: 394,229 applicants competed for 270,520 seats across 375 colleges.

Private Colleges: 58,119 students applied for 182,355 seats across 505 colleges.
To ensure a smooth examination process, the university prepared 138 centers, with the highest concentrations in the Dhaka Division (27 centers), Chittagong (23), and the Dhaka Metropolitan area (18).
Strict Examination Guidelines
The university administration enforced several strict regulations for the candidates:

Mandatory Documents: Students were required to bring the printed admit card from the official admission website and their HSC registration card.

Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, calculators, and all types of electronic devices were strictly banned inside the examination halls.

Writing Tools: Only black ink ballpoint pens were permitted for the OMR sheets; pencils were strictly forbidden.

Identity Verification: The photo uploaded during the online application was considered final; any tampering with the photo resulted in immediate disqualification.

Hall Conduct: Candidates had to be present at least one hour before the exam began. No student was allowed entry after the test commenced.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the decision of the Chief Invigilator or the duty teacher remains final in the examination hall. Furthermore, any OMR sheet containing symbolic marks or mobile numbers will be summarily cancelled.
