NTRCA Excluded Applicants Meet Chairman Amid Protests for 17th and 18th Batch Rights

Candidates who passed the 17th and 18th teacher registration exams but were denied application opportunities due to age limits held discussions with Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) Chairman Aminul Islam on Monday (September 29).
Around noon, 13 representatives entered the NTRCA conference room at Borak Tower on Eskaton Garden Road for talks, joined by three branch members. The delegation includes Md. Yusuf Imon, Jasim Uddin, Uttam Sarkar, Hafiz Uddin, Hamid ur Rahman Ran, Lablu Hossain, Saidul Islam, Rakib ur Rahman, Saima Akter, Afrin Akter, Parjana Akter, Roxana Ferdous, and Abu Hiya.
Earlier, at 11:00 AM, they began a sit-in outside the fourth-floor office, leading to arguments with officials demanding entry. Police intervention allowed the 13-member team inside after the standoff.
The protesters seek inclusion in general notifications, citing valid certificates despite age expirations from delays. Md. Jasim, a 17th batch candidate, told *The Daily Campus*, “We passed but were excluded from notifications due to age, despite valid certificates and directives from the Education and Law Ministries and High Court.”
Yusuf Imon added, “The 17th circular was in January 2020, results December 28, 2024—four years later—expiring 739 candidates' ages. The 18th, November 2, 2023, results June 4, 2025—over 1.5 years—hit many. We're COVID victims; we just want one application chance.”
Md. Lablu noted, “Three-year certificate validity ignored; unlike 1st-16th batches with age relaxations in four notifications, we're discriminated against.”
They demand filling 60,000+ vacant private teaching posts via special notifications. This follows June 15 and July 7 protests alleging viva irregularities and delays. NTRCA, under new Chairman Aminul Islam (appointed July 27, 2025), has not commented on outcomes.
