NTRCA Office Siege by 17th and 18th Batch Registrants Over Application Exclusion

Candidates who passed the 17th and 18th teacher registration exams but were excluded from general notifications due to age limits staged a sit-in outside the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) office on Monday (September 29).
Around 11:00 AM, they gathered at the NTRCA office on the fourth floor of Borak Tower, Eskaton Garden Road, and clashed verbally with officials while demanding a meeting with Chairman Aminul Islam, leading to heightened tension. Md. Jasim, a 17th batch candidate denied application rights, told *The Daily Campus*, “Despite passing the 17th and 18th registration exams, we were barred from notifications citing age, even though our certificates remain valid.”
He added, “The Ministry of Education, Law Ministry, and High Court directives exist, yet we're excluded. We're here to demand application opportunities.”
Yusuf Imon explained, “The 17th registration circular was published in January 2020, with final results on December 28, 2024—nearly four years later—causing 739 candidates' ages to expire.” For the 18th, published November 2, 2023, results came on June 4, 2025, after over 1.5 years, affecting many. “Our certificates are valid; we're COVID victims seeking one application chance.”
Md. Lablu noted, “Despite three-year certificate validity, 17th and 18th registrants got no notification opportunities, unlike 1st-16th batches, which had four with age relaxations. This discrimination must end.” The protesters demand filling over 60,000 vacant private teaching posts via special notifications for them.
This follows earlier protests, including a June 15, 2025, sit-in by 18th batch candidates demanding re-evaluation and certificates for all viva passers, and a July 7, 2025, siege alleging viva irregularities. NTRCA has not responded to the latest demands.
