Government Announces Financial Grants for Students and Non-Government Teachers-Staff
The government will provide financial grants to students and non-government teachers and staff this year. The Secondary and Higher Education Division has called for online applications for the 2025-26 fiscal year. Priority will be given to students from disadvantaged, disabled, third-gender, poor, and backward communities.
Students, teachers, and school/college principals can apply online from 15 February 2026 to 17 March 2026. For application, the head of the institution/registrar must complete registration on the MyGov platform (www.mygov.bd). The mobile number used for registration must match the latest Annual Education Census-2025 in BANBEIS. After registration, the profile must be verified using the EIIN number.
Grants for Educational Institutions
All recognized non-government general educational institutions (both MPO-listed and non-MPO) can apply for grants to support repair, renovation, furniture procurement, library setup, sports equipment purchase, and making facilities disabled-friendly. Priority will be given to institutions in backward areas.
Grants for Teachers and Staff
Teachers and staff of non-government general educational institutions can apply for grants in cases of incurable diseases or accidental disabilities. Applications must include a copy of the national ID, a certificate from the head of the institution, a medical certificate from a doctor, and a certificate from a government hospital.
Grants for Students
Students from government and non-government general educational institutions can apply for grants for incurable diseases, accidental disabilities, or education expenses. Priority will be given to disadvantaged, disabled, third-gender, helpless, sick, poor, meritorious, and backward community students. For secondary and higher secondary students, birth registration certificate and a certificate from the head of the institution are mandatory. For graduate and postgraduate students, a certificate from the department head and birth registration/national ID are required.
Application Process
- Applications from institutions must be submitted by the head/principal.
- Teachers/staff and students must apply through the head/principal/registrar of their institution.
- Bank account details and a PDF copy of the MICR cheque book must be attached. For teachers/staff and students, allocated funds will be disbursed via mobile banking.
Important Conditions
- Institutions and teachers/staff can receive benefits only once; those who previously received grants cannot reapply.
- Students can apply a maximum of once every three years during their educational life.
- Disabled students must submit a disability certificate from the district/upazila social services office. Third-gender applicants need a certificate from a government hospital doctor.
- Incomplete applications or hard copies will not be accepted.
- Authorities may take legal action against those who violate conditions or engage in fraudulent practices.
