No Question of Relaxing Educational Qualifications for Managing Committees: Education Minister
Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsan-ul-Haque Milon has categorically stated that there is no question of relaxing educational qualifications for managing committees in the country’s educational institutions.
He made the remark while responding to journalists’ questions after distributing prizes to winners of various competitions and wheelchairs to persons with disabilities at an event in Kochua, Chandpur, on Friday afternoon (13 March), organized on the occasion of National Education Week.
The minister said: “In managing committees of educational institutions, we are thinking of including those who have contributions in the field of education—not semi-literate individuals. The information circulating about forming committees with semi-literate people is incomplete and distorted.”
He further stated: “We want to make Kochua a role model for education before the rest of the country. From here, it will be spread nationwide. First, we need to fix our own house. The government is working step by step to improve the quality of education.”
He added: “There will be no more SSC examinations in the old system. Initiatives have been taken to conduct examinations in a new, modern, practical, and realistic manner.”
Addressing journalists, he urged: “Please present the real truth. Do not quote statements in a truncated or distorted way.”
He also announced that in the coming days, examinees, invigilators, and observers in examination halls will be brought under a unified set of rules.
