HSC Pass Rate in 8 Overseas Centres at 95.88%

The results of the 2025 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations were announced on Wednesday, October 16, at 10:00am by Professor Dr. Khandaker Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board.
According to the Inter-Education Board, 291 students appeared for the HSC exams at overseas centres, with 279 passing and 12 failing, yielding a pass rate of 95.88%. Exams were conducted at eight centres, with two institutions achieving a 100% pass rate and no candidates expelled.
Nationally, 7,26,960 students passed, with an overall pass rate of 58.83%. Of the 12,51,111 examinees, 6,11,447 boys participated, with 3,33,864 passing and 32,053 securing GPA-5, resulting in a 54.60% pass rate. Meanwhile, 6,24,215 girls appeared, with 3,93,096 passing and 69,097 achieving GPA-5, leading to a 62.97% pass rate.
A total of 9,197 institutions participated. This year, 202 institutions had zero passes, up from 65 in 2024. Institutions with a 100% pass rate dropped to 345 from 1,338 last year.
Stream-wise Performance:
- Science: 10,47,242 students appeared (1,28,100 boys, 1,34,059 girls). Boys’ pass rate was 77.51% (99,296 passed), and girls’ was 79.87% (1,07,077 passed), making it the highest-performing stream.
- Humanities: 6,06,282 students appeared (2,62,582 boys, 3,43,700 girls). Boys’ pass rate was 40.54% (1,06,463 passed), and girls’ was 54.10% (1,85,949 passed), with the highest failure rate.
- Business Studies: 1,78,801 students appeared (98,405 boys, 80,396 girls). Boys’ pass rate was 50.22% (49,407 passed), and girls’ was 62.15% (49,964 passed).
Students can access results from their institutions or online via education board websites. Written exams ended on August 19, with practicals from August 21 to 31. Results were published within 60 days of the written exams, as per tradition.
