DU Science Unit admission test today, 60 aspirants to compete per seat
The postponed admission test for the Science Unit under the first-year undergraduate programme for the 2025-2026 academic session at Dhaka University (DU) will be held today Saturday (27 December) from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. A total of 1,14,114 students have applied against 1,891 seats this year. Accordingly, 60 candidates will compete for each seat.
This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the university on Friday (26 December) evening.
The admission test will be conducted at Dhaka University and seven public universities in divisional cities outside Dhaka. The centres outside Dhaka are: Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barishal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sylhet), Bangladesh Agricultural University (Mymensingh) and Begum Rokeya University (Rangpur).
The press release stated that special arrangements have been made for the convenience of those students who participated in the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) admission test on the same day and had their DU Science Unit centre changed to Dhaka. Accordingly, three additional centres have already been set up in Mirpur and Farmgate areas for the admission test. To ensure safe and convenient commuting for students from MIST, the interval between metro rail services has been reduced. Additional metro rail services will operate for students on this day.
It further mentioned that, at the request of Dhaka University authorities, MIST authorities have rescheduled their Architecture Department’s second shift examination, originally scheduled from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday (27 December), to Sunday (28 December) from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The first-year undergraduate admission test for the Science Unit of Dhaka University for the 2025-2026 academic session, originally scheduled for Saturday (20 December), was postponed as a mark of one-day state mourning following the death of probable Dhaka-8 MP candidate and former DU student Sharif Osman Hadi. Later, the new date was fixed for Saturday (27 December).
