The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will not be published on July 20 as previously expected. Ongoing administrative complexities surrounding the HSC examinations have delayed the final preparation of the results. However, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has announced that if everything goes according to plan, the results are highly likely to be released in the final week of July.

Confirming the development to The Daily Campus on Saturday (July 18), Professor Syed Akteruzzaman, President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, detailed the current situation.

"It is not possible to release the results on July 20," Professor Akteruzzaman said. "Due to various complications regarding the ongoing HSC exams, we could not finalize the result preparation. We are currently working toward publishing the results by the end of this month."

He further assured that the publication will definitely take place within July. "We were initially instructed to have everything ready by July 20. However, due to unfavorable circumstances, that timeline could not be met. Nevertheless, our teams are working relentlessly to wrap up the process."

Disruption to Prior Ministerial Timeline

Earlier, Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon had stated on multiple occasions during various public events that the SSC and equivalent exam results would be released by July 20. In line with that declaration, the Ministry of Education had instructed the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee to complete all necessary preparations. However, due to the unexpected delays, the results will not be out this Monday.

Traditionally, the results of the SSC and equivalent examinations are published within 60 days of the conclusion of the written papers. This year's examinations commenced on April 21. The written exams under the general education boards concluded on May 20, while the theoretical papers for the Dakhil and SSC (Vocational) streams ended on May 24.

A total of 1,857,344 students filled out registration forms to appear in this year's SSC and equivalent evaluations. Among the total registered candidates:

  • SSC (General Boards): 1,418,398 examinees

  • Dakhil (Madrasah Board): 304,286 examinees
