High-Level Administrative Coordination
The high-profile press briefing at the Secretariat saw a major gathering of top education policymakers, advisors, and institutional heads, highlighting the state's coordinated focus on restructuring the academic sector.
The conference was attended by Mahadi Amin, the Prime Minister's Advisor on Education and Primary and Mass Education; Bobby Hajjaj, the State Minister for Primary and Mass Education; and Professor Dr. A.S.M. Amanullah, the Vice-Chancellor of National University. Senior bureaucratic leaders were also present, including Abdul Khalek, Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division; Md. Dawood Miah, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division; and Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel, the Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE).
SSC Exam Schedule and Primary Curriculum Shifts
Beyond the recruitment directives, the Education Minister addressed ongoing discussions surrounding the public examination timelines. Commenting on the schedule for the 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, Dr. Milon noted that the current routine was explicitly designed to conclude all examinations before the holy month of Ramadan, strictly aligning with the direct demands of key academic stakeholders. He emphasized that the exams will proceed exactly as scheduled according to the published routine, and the ministry currently harbors no plans to alter the dates unless major stakeholders collectively request a fresh review.
During the briefing, Prime Minister's Advisor Mahadi Amin highlighted significant changes being introduced to the primary and lower-secondary school curricula to foster well-rounded development. He revealed that two brand new textbooks—one dedicated to sports and athletics, and another focused on arts and culture—will be introduced to Class Four students. Furthermore, Class Six students will soon see the integration of specialized Technical and Vocational Education modules alongside a new mental well-being course framework titled "Learning with Happiness."
