After a prolonged closure marking the Holy Eid-ul-Adha and the summer vacation, educational institutions across the country are all set to reopen. Following a 16-day break, regular academic classes will resume tomorrow, Sunday (June 7), at all government and private primary and secondary schools, colleges, and institutions operating under the Technical Education Board, bringing students back to their classrooms after more than two weeks.

According to the official academic calendar, the vacation for government and private primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, and technical education institutions lasted until Thursday (June 4). Since yesterday, June 5, and today, June 6, fell on the weekly weekend, formal teaching and classroom activities will fully resume tomorrow, Sunday (June 7).

In contrast, Islamic educational institutions across the country, including all Alia, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil, and Kamil-level madrasahs, are scheduled to reopen at a later date. According to the official madrasah academic calendar, their vacation commenced on May 24 and is slated to continue until next Thursday (June 11). Since June 12 and 13 are regular weekly holidays, madrasah classrooms will officially reopen on Sunday, June 14.

Although the generalized vacation was scheduled to begin on May 24, students practically entered their holiday period right after their classes concluded on May 21, as May 22 and 23 fell on the Friday and Saturday weekend.

Meanwhile, due to the overlapping schedules of the Eid-ul-Adha holidays and the annual summer vacation, students at Dhaka University have enjoyed a month-long break. However, the administrative offices of the university are scheduled to resume operations this Monday (June 8).

On the other hand, students at Rajshahi University and the majority of other public universities nationwide will be returning to their classrooms tomorrow, Sunday. The vacation for these higher education institutions wrapped up on Thursday, and following the conclusion of the June 5 and 6 weekend, regular academic sessions will commence tomorrow morning.
