Assistant Headmasters Without BEd Degrees Likely to Get MPO Benefits
The Ministry of Education has delivered positive news for assistant headmasters of private educational institutions who were appointed without a BEd degree. The Ministry has formally requested a clear opinion from the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) regarding the MPO enlistment of these teachers. Sources suggest that once the DSHE provides its feedback, these assistant headmasters are likely to be included in the MPO (Monthly Pay Order) system.
On Wednesday, the Ministry sent a formal letter to the Director General of DSHE seeking their specific input on this matter. The letter was dispatched from the Private Secondary Wing of the Ministry. It noted that the initiative was taken based on the recommendations of the Appeal Committee formed under Article 20.1 (C) of the Private Educational Institution (School and College) Manpower Structure and MPO Policy-2025.
To proceed with the process, the Ministry has requested the DSHE to collect detailed information on the affected teachers and submit a specific proposal. This move is expected to resolve a long-standing complication for many assistant headmasters across the country who have been facing administrative hurdles in receiving their pay orders due to the lack of a BEd degree at the time of their appointment.
