MPO Teachers' April Salaries: Payment Likely by Next Week
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has submitted the salary proposal for over 375,000 MPO-listed teachers and employees in private schools and colleges for the month of April. However, as of Thursday afternoon (April 30), the Ministry of Education has yet to grant final approval. According to officials, teachers can expect to receive their salaries and allowances by the end of next week.
A source from DSHE explained the technical process on Thursday, noting that once the Ministry of Education provides its approval, the data must be uploaded to the iBAS++ system. Following the release of funds through iBAS, the instruction is sent to the Bangladesh Bank, which subsequently transfers the funds to the respective banks where teachers hold their accounts.
Speaking to The Daily Campus on condition of anonymity, a DSHE official stated that the administration is working to complete all necessary procedures by next Tuesday. The official expressed hope that teachers would receive their salaries by next Thursday. If any unforeseen delays occur, the funds are expected to be credited to the teachers' bank accounts by May 10 or 11.
The monthly salary process typically begins with heads of educational institutions submitting online bill proposals. These bills undergo rigorous verification and coordination with the Ministry of Finance before final fund disbursement is authorized. The government has transitioned to this digital submission and approval system to ensure transparency and consistency in the payment of MPO-listed staff, minimizing manual errors and delays in processing.
