‘Silent Expel’ System to Remain in SSC Exams 2026
The “Silent Expel” system will remain in force in the 2026 SSC and equivalent examinations to ensure discipline and transparency.
This was mentioned in the recently published guidelines for conducting the SSC examinations.
In public examinations, if a candidate is found violating rules (such as talking, turning their head, or copying) without being caught red-handed, the invigilator can silently expel them. The student does not immediately realise they have been expelled, but their answer script is later cancelled.
According to the instructions, if any examinee is expelled or silently expelled for adopting unfair means or any other reason, the first part of the cover page of their creative answer script should not be torn. Along with the invigilator’s report, it must be prepared in the confidential form provided on the board’s website. The creative answer script must then be packed separately. The packet should be clearly marked “Reported” in red ink and submitted separately in the box/bag containing other answer scripts to the Controller of Examinations’ office immediately after the end of that particular subject’s examination.
The guidelines further state that in the case of silent expulsion, the reason must be clearly mentioned in the invigilator’s report. Silently expelled candidates will be allowed to appear in the next subject’s examination. However, even if they do not adopt unfair means in subsequent subjects, their creative and objective answer scripts for all remaining subjects must be packed separately with reports clearly mentioning the subject, paper, and reason for silent expulsion, and submitted separately to the Controller of Examinations’ office.
