Chief Adviser leaves for Rome to attend World Food Forum

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus left Dhaka for Rome, Italy, to attend the flagship annual World Food Forum (WFF), said Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Chief Adviser and his entourage departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 11:30am on Sunday.
Dr. Yunus will deliver a keynote speech at the WFF’s main session and hold bilateral meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and heads of various international organisations.
Discussions will focus on global challenges, including food security, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development.
Organised by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the WFF, held from October 10 to 17 at FAO Headquarters in Rome, serves as a platform for policymakers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to discuss the future of global food systems.
The Chief Adviser’s participation underscores Bangladesh’s proactive diplomatic engagement and growing leadership on the global stage.
Professor Yunus is expected to return on October 15.
