Altaf Hossain Chowdhury to become Speaker of the 13th Parliament

Altaf Hossain Chowdhury is set to become the Speaker of the 13th National Parliament. The first session of the parliament will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at 11:00 AM, where President Mohammed Shahabuddin will administer the oath of office to the Speaker.
In preparation for the session, security has been bolstered in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and the areas surrounding the Parliament House. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has prohibited all types of meetings, rallies, processions, and the carrying of weapons or explosives in the relevant areas from 12:00 AM Wednesday until the conclusion of the session. This order was issued through a public notice signed by the Acting DMP Commissioner, Md. Sarwar.
