Unconfirmed reports indicate a potential reshuffle in key positions of Bangladesh's interim government's advisory council, including changes in the home affairs portfolio and high-level police posts. A reliable government source claimed last night that these changes could take effect today Tuesday (23 December).

According to the source, current Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury may be replaced by current National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury would continue handling the Agriculture Ministry. Discussions are also underway regarding relieving Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Khoda Bakhsh Chowdhury from his duties.

The source attributes the potential home affairs change to pressure from Inqilab Moncho following the murder of its spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. Additionally, major reshuffles in top police positions are planned ahead of upcoming elections, with official announcements expected today.

These reports remain unconfirmed by official statements as of now.
