The Election Commission (EC) has directed all educational institutions designated as polling centres for the upcoming thirteenth national parliament election on 12 February to keep their existing CCTV cameras operational. This information has been conveyed in a notification signed by EC Deputy Secretary Mohammad Manir Hossain.

It has been stated that polling centres must be made suitable for voters' movement before the polling date and necessary repairs to the infrastructure of polling centres must be carried out. Electricity connections must be provided to polling centres without power supply.

It has further been said that existing CCTV connections at polling centres must be kept operational. For centres without CCTV connections, the managing committees or authorities of those centres will be requested to arrange CCTV connections at least for polling day.

Besides, district administrators, superintendents of police and upazila nirbahi officers must personally inspect polling centres. Special arrangements must be made for disabled, elderly and pregnant women to vote, especially in cyclone centres.
