Osman Hadi transferred to Evercare Hospital as condition remains critical
The ambulance carrying independent candidate for Dhaka-8 constituency and Inqilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi left Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for Evercare Hospital around 7:30 pm on Friday (12 December).
DMCH Director Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman confirmed the transfer, saying: "There is a bullet injury to his head. He also has injuries to his chest and leg. We suspect the leg injury may have occurred from falling off a rickshaw. We performed initial surgery at Dhaka Medical. Now we are sending him to Evercare Hospital."
He added: "The family has consented to the transfer. Initially, they wanted to take him to CMH, but later changed their decision to Evercare. We have coordinated with Evercare authorities, who are ready. Arrangements are being made to move him immediately."
Earlier in the afternoon, Osman Hadi was shot in the Box Culvert area of Bijoynagar during election campaigning. He was rushed to DMCH in critical condition.
In the afternoon, DMCH authorities stated his condition was critical and he had been placed on life support. The bullet remains lodged in his head.
Police are investigating the attack. No arrests have been reported yet.
