Tight security at Evercare Hospital ahead of briefing on Khaleda Zia condition
Security has been significantly beefed up around Evercare Hospital in the capital where BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment. Police barricades were placed on both sides of the hospital’s main gate early Tuesday morning (2 December), and only authorised persons are being allowed entry while crowds are kept at bay.
Police sources said the barricades were set up around 2:00 am to ensure uninterrupted movement of patients and their families as well as to reinforce security for Khaleda Zia.
BNP Standing Committee member and Khaleda Zia’s personal physician Prof Dr A Z M Jahid Hossain will brief the media on her latest health condition at 12:00 noon today in front of the hospital gate in Bashundhara area.
On Monday night, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir visited the hospital along with Dr Jahid Hossain to discuss the latest medical updates with the board. However, Mirza Fakhrul made no comment on her condition while leaving the facility.
