Former Bangladesh national cricket captain and current BCB director Khaled Masud Pilot has firmly denied viral social media rumours that he is joining Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

Speaking to a leading Bangladeshi media outlet, Pilot said:

“I am a sports-loving person. My father was a national footballer, I played for the national team for many years and even captained it. Now I have become a BCB director with the sole aim of contributing to the development of cricket in the country.

At this moment, I have no intention of getting involved in politics. With full respect to all political parties, I can clearly say there is no question of me joining any political party right now. I am not even thinking about politics at the moment.”

The rumour had spread rapidly on social media in recent days, prompting concern and curiosity among cricket fans.

With this statement, Pilot has categorically dismissed the speculation, making it clear that he remains focused only on cricket administration and has no plans to enter politics — neither with Jamaat-e-Islami nor any other party.
