BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia shifted to CCU

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital, has been moved from a cabin to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir confirmed the development on Thursday (27 November).

BNP Standing Committee member Dr A Z M Zahid Hossain said Khaleda Zia is under close monitoring in the CCU under the supervision of a medical board comprising local and foreign specialist physicians.

He urged the nation to pray for the chairperson's recovery.

Earlier, on Sunday night (23 November) at 8:00pm, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka with chest infection, along with heart and lung complications, according to Prof Dr F M Siddiqui, a member of her medical board.

It may be mentioned that the 79-year-old Begum Khaleda Zia has been suffering from arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, eye problems and other complications for many years. She requires frequent hospitalisation due to various ailments.

Prior to this admission, she had travelled to London on 7 January for advanced treatment. After 117 days of treatment in London, she returned home on 6 May.
