One-Third of Centres Counted, Chatra Dal Leads VP, Shibir Ahead in GS and AGS

Vote counting for the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) election is progressing. Results from 13 out of 39 centres have been officially declared so far.

In the latest update, results from the Marketing Department and Animal Science Department centres were announced this morning, Wednesday (7 January), by Election Commission representative Dr Anisur Rahman. Chhatra Dal-supported candidate AKM Rakib has strengthened his lead in the VP position across these centres.

Current Standings After 13 Centres

• VP (Vice-President): Chhatra Dal-supported candidate AKM Rakib is leading with a total of 1,457 votes. His closest rival, Islami Chhatra Shibir-supported Riazul Islam, has received 1,359 votes (Rakib leads by 98 votes).
• GS (General Secretary): Islami Chhatra Shibir-supported Abdul Alim Arif maintains a strong lead with 1,469 votes. Chhatra Dal candidate Khadijatul Kobora has 724 votes (Arif leads by 745 votes).
• AGS (Assistant General Secretary): Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed Masud Rana is ahead with 1,345 votes. Chhatra Dal candidate Atikur Rahman Tanzil has 1,159 votes (Rana leads by 186 votes).
