The government plans to bring Ebtedayee madrasas under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education in the near future, State Minister Bobby Hajjaj announced today, Thursday (May 7). He shared this information during a citizen dialogue titled "Government Priorities and the Education Sector: Budget and Reality," organized by the CPD Citizen’s Platform in the capital.

The State Minister clarified that while the transition is a priority, the process will not begin immediately as the ministry focuses on internal restructuring. He noted that the education system has been severely weakened over the past few years and requires extensive "repair work" before the ministry can take on additional large-scale responsibilities.

Bobby Hajjaj emphasized the government’s long-term vision to bring all education for children under the age of 10 under a single ministry. This initiative aims to establish a similar curriculum and standardized quality across various educational platforms, including madrasas. He assured the audience that the ministry is actively working toward this goal to ensure a uniform educational foundation for all young students in the country.

Addressing the status of approximately 14,500 teachers waiting to join primary schools, the State Minister took a firm stance on classroom quality. He asserted that no teacher will be allowed to enter a classroom without completing the necessary professional training.

Despite protests from the waitlisted teachers, the Minister maintained that the government remains steadfast in its decision. He informed that these teachers will be able to return to classrooms within the next four to six months once they have successfully completed their mandatory training programs, ensuring that the standard of primary instruction is not compromised.
