NTRCA–Teletalk meeting decides on e‑registration demo for upcoming teacher recruitment
The Non‑Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority and Teletalk held a meeting on the start of online e‑registration for private educational institutions ahead of the next teacher recruitment circular. The meeting decided to hold a demo of the e‑registration software on Thursday.
The meeting took place at 3pm on Monday at the NTRCA conference room, chaired by NTRCA Chairman Md Aminul Islam, with senior officials present.
A source said a software demo will be shown as a prerequisite for launching e‑registration. If no issues are found, e‑registration will begin next week.
An NTRCA official who attended the meeting, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Daily Campus that another meeting will be held on Thursday. After that, the date for publishing the e‑registration notice and the start and end dates for registration will be finalized.
Meanwhile, the teacher registration rules for private educational institutions have been revised to make major changes to desired academic qualifications. With equivalence across 40 subjects, registrants are expected to have a better chance of employment. The change is expected to take effect from the 19th teacher registration.
Changes proposed in the new recruitment process
A 200‑mark examination has been proposed for all three streams: school‑college, madrasa, and technical. Earlier proposals suggested 100 subjective and 100 general for school‑college and technical, and 140 subjective and 60 general for madrasas. The Education Ministry believes different patterns may create discrimination, so it is considering the same pattern across all three streams.
An Education Ministry official told The Daily Campus that various proposals have been discussed, including separate methods for different streams, but that a unified exam model is now under consideration. The issue will be discussed in an upcoming NTRCA board meeting and finalized in a later ministry meeting.
It was also learned that NTRCA registration exams have not previously included viva marks. For the first time, viva marks will be added under the new rules, with the Education Ministry taking a positive view. In addition, for the first time, age will be calculated from the date the 19th registration circular is published.
