Football enthusiasts in Bangladesh can finally breathe a sigh of relief as all uncertainties surrounding the broadcasting of the upcoming FIFA World Cup have been resolved. The highly anticipated tournament, set to take place in North America, will be broadcast live across three prominent television channels in Bangladesh.

According to reliable sources, a consortium consisting of the country's lone sports-centric private channel T Sports, Somoy TV, and the state-run Bangladesh Television (BTV) is acquiring the direct broadcasting rights from the global football governing body, FIFA. A formal agreement has already been executed among the parties, effectively clearing the air for millions of local fans eager to witness the global football spectacle.

In an exciting development for modern viewers, the football action will not be confined to traditional television sets. Fans will have the flexibility to catch every single match live on their mobile devices and digital platforms from anywhere in the country.

Alongside the digital extensions of Somoy TV, BTV, and T Sports, the tournament will be widely accessible on top domestic Over-The-Top (OTT) and telecom streaming services. The matches of the "Greatest Show on Earth" will be streamed live on Banglalink’s popular OTT platform, Toffee, as well as Grameenphone’s premier streaming application, Bioscope, ensuring seamless, on-the-go viewing for smartphone users nationwide.

The 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup is being co-hosted by three North American giants—the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on June 11 at the historic Estadio Azteca, featuring the opening clash between hosts Mexico and South Africa.

This edition marks a historic milestone as the World Cup expands for the first time to feature a 48-team format. The action-packed 39-day tournament will showcase a total of 104 matches played across 16 world-class stadiums in the three host countries. Out of the 16 venues, 11 are located in the United States, while Mexico and Canada will host matches in three and two venues respectively. The curtains will fall on this monumental tournament with the grand finale scheduled for July 19.
