The Maulana Bhasani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) branch of Bangladesh Chhatra League has expelled 19 leaders and activists following recommendations from a disciplinary board. Among them, four individuals, including the organization's president and general secretary, have been permanently expelled. The information was disclosed in separate notifications signed by the university's registrar, Dr. Md. Tauhidul Islam.

According to the notifications, the expulsions stem from a complaint filed by general students on August 17 last year against retaliatory activities by a specific student organization affiliated with the university. Based on the final report of the investigation committee formed in response, the university's 47th Discipline Board Meeting on August 26 this year recommended the actions. Subsequently, the 250th meeting of the Syndicate Board on August 27 approved the decisions. Of the accused, four have been permanently expelled from the university due to the severity of their offenses. The remaining 15 have been banned from entering the campus for varying periods—until their expulsion orders expire—considering the nature and gravity of their actions.

Those permanently expelled include: Manik Shil, a 2012-13 session student from the ES RM department and Chhatra League president; Md. Humayun Kabir, a 2016-17 session student from the Economics department and general secretary; Shaon Ghosh from the Economics department; and Md. Sadiq Iqbal from the Physics department.

Expelled for five semesters is Raihan Ahmed Shanto, a 2018-19 session student from the Physics department. Seven individuals have been expelled for four semesters: Md. Yobaier Doula (Riyan) and Rana Bappi, 2017-18 session students from the Chemistry department; Sakawat Ahmed Shubhra, a 2017-18 session student from the Mathematics department; Md. Abdullah Sarkar Utsho and Md. Abid Hasan (Maruf), 2018-19 session students from the Mathematics department; Khalequzzaman Noman, a 2018-19 session student from the Economics department; and Nahid Hasan, a 2020-2021 session student from the Management department.

Seven others have been expelled for three semesters: Sujan Mia, a 2019-20 session student from the Economics department; Md. Naim Reza, a 2020-21 session student from the Economics department; Jahid Hasan, a 2020-21 session student from the Accounting department; Imtiaz Ahmed Raju and Imranul Islam, 2020-21 session students from the CPS department; Md.
