Two Students Stabbed for Refusing to Show SSC Exam Answer Scripts

Police have detained four candidates following a violent assault where two SSC examinees were slashed and injured for refusing to show their answer scripts on the final day of the secondary examinations in Mirsharai, Chittagong. The incident transpired on Sunday (May 17) at around 1:30 PM in front of the Baraiyarhat Degree College premises.

The detained individuals have been identified as Sajid Hossain Rafi (17), Muktadul Islam Mahid (17), Nowshin Islam Ramim (17), and Mosharraf Hossain (17). All four suspects sat for this year's SSC examinations from the Korerhat Kamini Majumder High School.

According to police and eyewitness accounts, the SSC Higher Mathematics examination for the Science group was administered on Sunday. During the examination, several candidates from Korerhat Kamini Majumder High School requested two students from Baraiyarhat Paurashava Co-educational High School, identified as Shakhawat Hossain Jihan and Munayem, to show them their answer scripts.

When Jihan and Munayem refused to comply, a group of 10 to 12 candidates from the opposing school intercepted them on their way home after the examination and stabbed them repeatedly. Local residents rescued the bleeding victims and rushed them to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.

Following the assault, law enforcement personnel initiated a prompt drive based on formal complaints and apprehended the four suspects from the Korerhat Bazar area.

Confirming the developments, Mohammad Abdul Halim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorarganj Police Station, stated that the four individuals were detained during an overnight police operation. A criminal case has been registered against them, and they have been produced before the competent court.
